Haul: Love Make-Up & Boots!

Spoils of my foray into www.love-makeup.co.uk/ & www.boots.com

When I spotted in my Facebook Newsfeed (on Friday 8/11/2013) that  the Ben Nye powder (see my "Heads Up" post here) - which I had just put on my "Monday Wishlist" this week - was back in stock at www.love-makeup.co.uk I knew I had to move fast to make sure I got it as it is not that easy to get hold off in Britain!

I was, however, one of the lucky one's and managed to put my order in for the Ben Nye powder in "Cameo" before it sold out (i.e. as it turned out within about 90 minutes of it going live on Facebook!).

How finely milled does this look!

I'm really pleased with my choice of shade! It's absolutely perfect! It helped a lot that I quickly googled swatches as the really popular shade "Banana" would definitively have been way too dark for my complexion - especially in the under-eye area!

Now I just need to figure out a mess free way of getting it out of the bottle and on to my skin!

When idley checking the Lime Crime section of their website I spotted that Lime Crime's Candyfuture Lipsticks in "Babette" and "Coquette" were back in stock (retailing at £11.50)  so I added these two to my order...

One swipe - totally opaque & full colour

Those colours do seriously pop and how freaking cute is the packaging! These two move right to the top of the class for "prettiest lipstick packaging"!

Having given these two a quick whirl I'd say I really love the colour pay off & staying power ("Coquette" lasted through drinking a bottle of Evian (small) and later having a Wagamas).  However, because of the superb staying power I found the formula a bit drying on my lip - so for me a good quality lip balm worn underneath will be a must in future! But overall fantastic lipsticks!

Nyx Slim Lipliners - true to colour & nice, creamy formula!

And to round it off I added two matching Nyx slim lipliner pencils in "Tangerine" and "Flower" (retailing at £3.50)!

If you are looking for a perfect - and affordable - match for "Coquette" & "Babette" with staying power and a nice creamy finish: Look no further!

And full marks Love Make Up for the super speedy delivery - my order arrived Saturday morning (9/11/2013) - Next day delivery!

Now moving on to Boots!

{Not only did I take advantage of "3 for 2" but I actually used some of my accumulated Boots points to pay - woo!}

"Bourjois celebrates its 150th anniversary with a reinvented vintage edition of its first historical best-seller."

Poudre Illuminatrice Universelle
Illuminating Powder matching all skin tones

I got the amazingly cutely packaged "Poudre de Riz de Java" by Bourjois (retailing at £9.99) and I just adore it's vintage look.

I was really keen on this powder as I don't really do matte powders but this promises to add a subtle luminous sheen to the skin!

Plus this powder suits all skin tones!

Can't wait to give this a try!

Now the next two purchases don't fall into the category "You Tube Made me Buy It" but should be more correctly called Bloglovin' made me buy it and more specifically Ashley Brooke's "Top 10 Makeup Products under $10 (Face products)" (If you haven't done so - check out her blog!)!

First up, I got Maybelline's Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye in "Light" as my trusty Collection under-eye highlighter is running low and I was feeling experimental!

Can't wait to try this out!!!

The last product I picked up was Revlon's "Nearly Naked" Foundation in the shade - surprise, surprise - "110 Ivory" because I was after light satin finish foundation for everyday use (retailing at £8.99)! Let's see how it goes!

Revlon's take on the sheer coverage trend!

What would you have picked up?

Thanks so much for reading this post.

    1. Thanks! I'm really looking forward to trying it out as I'm hoping this might be a more budget friendly alternative to UD's Naked Skin foundation.

    1. On Twitter as well - they are really true to colour & super long-wearing as well (I had a swatch on my right arm I had forgotten about which survived my nighttime shower & I spotted what was left over of it when I woke up this morning...) !

  3. Love the Candyfuture lipsticks and NYX lip liners. Beautiful colors! Might pick up some of the liners, but don't know if I can get the lipsticks in the US. Awesome review!
